Our factory and expert team in the Lake District have been making infant formula for over 60 years, with a constant dedication to ensuring world-class quality in every can.
From the suppliers we partner with to the strict safety standards we follow; we ensure exceptionally high standards throughout the manufacturing process. Our factory is regularly audited against US, European and UK standards, that's three stamps of approval at our center of excellence.

At Kendamil, we're proud to have some of the industry's most experienced experts behind every recipe and every batch. Our team members bring decades of specialist knowledge in infant nutrition, manufacturing and dairy production.
As we continue to invest in world-class manufacturing and innovation, we’ve committed £40 million to expand our Kendal facility in 2027, which holds a BRC AA ‘Best’ rating for food production.

No ingredient passes the factory door unless it meets our strict approval criteria. This begins with our procurement and quality team who scrutinize all supplier facilities and documentation, checking certificates of analysis and traceability records.
Approved ingredients are then subject to further on-site checks, where identity, quality, and safety parameters are verified before they are cleared for use.

What parents ask us most
Yes. Every batch of Kendamil baby food undergoes rigorous internal and third-party testing for a wide range of potential contaminants, including heavy metals (lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury), pesticide residues, acrylamide, bisphenols, aluminum, and PFAS. All of our products are Clean Label Certified.
Yes. We have strict policies with our suppliers to ensure every ingredient meets our exacting standards. Suppliers are required to conduct their own testing before ingredients are shipped to our factory. We then perform our own quality and safety checks when those ingredients arrive and during the manufacturing process.
Testing happens throughout the manufacturing process—not just on the finished product. Ingredients, production processes, and finished batches are all monitored to help ensure consistent quality and safety at every stage.

Every batch goes through extensive testing, monitoring, and quality checks throughout production. Through our positive release process, quality records, production records, and testing results must all be reviewed and approved before a batch can be dispatched.

Yes. Every batch of Kendamil baby food undergoes rigorous internal and third-party testing for a wide range of potential contaminants, including heavy metals (lead, cadmium, arsenic, mercury), pesticide residues, acrylamide, bisphenols, aluminum, and PFAS. All of our products are Clean Label Certified.
SRC (Sulfite Reducing Clostridia) testing is a screening method used to monitor groups of spore-forming bacteria, including those associated with C. botulinum. It has always been part of Kendamil’s microbiological monitoring program and works alongside supplier controls, ingredient testing, environmental monitoring, and finished product testing as part of a wider safety system.
Yes. We have strict policies with our suppliers to ensure every ingredient meets our exacting standards. Suppliers are required to conduct their own testing before ingredients are shipped to our factory. We then perform our own quality and safety checks when those ingredients arrive and during the manufacturing process.
Kendamil’s quality program includes testing conducted both internally and through external accredited laboratories. In addition to more than 2,300 quality checks throughout the manufacturing process, more than 750 tests are conducted by external partners and accredited labs.
Yes. Our manufacturing and quality systems are subject to external audits and inspections as part of maintaining food safety, quality, and regulatory standards. Certification information is available through the Track & Trust tool.
Our quality systems are designed to identify results that need further investigation. When that happens, our Quality team follows established procedures to assess the result, conduct any necessary follow-up, and determine the appropriate next steps before any release decision is made.
